Christmas and Soya Bean

I always like the Soya Bean. I do not have any preferences on any choice or any particular shops as long as it is smooth in mouth and tasty. Soo King always enjoyed the same. Soya Bean will remain forever in my memory as I did not fulfill Soo King last wish to have it. She requested two items but I only managed to get one, while I said we always could have it later and did not really need to have it now. I am still regret on this.

This shop is always proclaimed the best in Ipoh town and I believed the crowd of line up was really scary on the Christmas holiday. And so I told my friend to drive off as we can always return and we do not need to join the crowd to squeeze through. I hope I could still find the time to try the soya bean curb again.

Teluk Batek

We decided to have a short half-day trip to the nearby Teluk Batek on the Christmas break. The kids were overjoy when hearing that they could be on the beach again as they always wanted to have some funs with the sands, sea shell collecting and swimming.
It was morning at 7.30am but both of the kids were not awaked yet and so we only started off the journey at 8.15am. The journey to the beach took us nearly 1 hour and I accidentally drove the car to the TLDM (Royal Malaysian Marine) and stopped by them at the entrance. I could only laughed as this was the first ever mistake to Teluk Batek after numerous trips before.
At arrival, the kids dashed to the beach and having their funs. The little on always wanted to have sea shell collection. I did not know from where he had this idea of collecting but he insisted. It was a great day for sea swimming as it was cloudy and windy. We spent nearly 1 hour inside the water before cleaned up.
We then stopped by at the Kampung Koh for a great lunch with crabs , fishes and prawns. All of these just costed us RM70. It was really excellent as we could see the restaurant immediately filled up with other customers. We reached home at 1.30pm and all I could do after parking my car was to have myself rested on bed. I slept till 6pm while the kids watching video without the complaints of tired. Well, I know this is sight of aging for myself.

We normally do not have Christmas count down. This year was a bit different with some little fun with the kids. We turned on the youtube with Christmas and the kids were sing dancing on the bed and we popped open the juice.
But what really interested the kids were the gifts. They grabbed them and opened to find what are the special gifts. After all, I did not prepare these gifts but my sis did. The kids returned me with some hand drawing cards.
It is Christmas again. Merry Christmas, SooKing!

I am so sad seeing loss of 4 children in the news.

My heart really sank when I read such a news where all 4 cute children were drown. I always avoid such type of disaster news. But I could help myself to ask do we adults have all the safe guard measure to the kids?
Is it our ignorant and negligence?

I am having my kids back this evening for the Christmas Eve and I will definitely cook for them, a long suspended responsibility of myself. Kids, I will cook for you once more.

After all, it will be a gathering dinner for my loved one.

離思

離思--曾經滄海難為水,除卻巫山不是雲

若天上有知, 望收到至愛的離思, 他朝有縁, 天上人間携手相聚

A near miss

I may not be an absolute careful driver but never a reckless driver... On my way home after dinner from sis's home, I normally will need to pass through a narrow street. Tonight there isn't much difference. The only different was that there was a reckless motorcyclist dashed out from a junction. I braked and skidded but fortunately I drifted to the opposite of this motorcyclist and manage to avoid a deadly collision.
I reminded myself to always careful and cautious about such incident again. I will.

Finally back...

After almost 1 week off home and country, now finally back rest on bed. There had been some great feeling for this trip with two kids. Will need to look for some times to arrange them for sharing soon. But now I need to rest for a while...

A new grand restaurant

At the side of this restaurant, it used to be an economical shopping spot for the local. I remembered I spent quite a number of days and nights there with my parents brought me there for buying shoes, clothes, begs etc. But it has since been in transformation to a grand 3 storey exclusive restaurant. I am looking forward to be a guest in this hall when it is ready before the Chinese New Year.

Moment ago, I went back to Kampar for a night as the kids are spending the school holidays with their grand mother. The kids always like to be at the grand parents' place as they will be king and can openly demand for anythings.
I went to the nearby lake, which is also the entrance to the Unitar and it is indeed a long stretch of lake side with fence. They are numerous youngsters and oldsters fishing at night. Everyone seems enjoy the cool night and relaxing fishing with chit chats. I could also withnessed some couples dating at a spot or two. It is really a nice haven for the local to enjoy the nice and night scenery. After all, I hope people do not damage but can maintain this nice spot for relax.

Waiting for my turn...

Last Sunday I was at hometown and my dad reminded that they would be a bit busy due to customers' booking for palm reading. He claimed the customers came with bus. Wow, I was really amazed on hearing this and so I grabbed the Canon and dashed to the scene.
It was about 9am and yet I really observed there were two buses at front with approximate 30 - 40 waiting customers. I did not really know why people came in group for palm reading. Well, my father never want to read my palm but yet accurately providing some hints to others. After all, it is reference for me as far as the palm reading is concerned.

It is always a place of people for food. Last Friday, I tried again and the place was full of outstationers. How do I know, well they spoke either Hokkien or Mandarin. These are rarely spoken in Ipoh where majority only bother to greet in Cantonese. It was full of people, including some Mat Salleh.
It would be better if there is free WIFI..lol

Today I received a letter from H bank informing that I will need to pay off the unauthorized transaction; as the transactions were conducted before the bank was notified. On reading this letter, I just cut the credit card and rang the H bank that I would need to cancel the card. I took out another few cards and all potong on spot.

This action had trimmed down the card total to 3 and I am still considering cutting another one.

We are copy cat???

This morning, I read an e-newspaper which carried the title something like this "chienese educational system in Malaysia only create copy cat." This was the statement of a local well recognized historian and research prof.

He went on commented and argued that how many innovation or invention had been from the creative mind of such chinese educated talents! I find this is one most irresponsible comment of all. Not because I am chinese educated but I am responding base on what I am now.

1) Japan is well known as copy cat after WW2 but now what about them? They are the leader in automobile and electronic.

2) USB thumb drive... if I am not mistaken, this is a creation of a local Chinese educated guy who venture his innovation in Taiwan.

3) blablabla

The innovation is not blocked by the media of education system. So prof, are you refering that there isn't any talented art work from Chinese education followers? How many innovations has the western media education system had helped to make Malaysian proud with the world class accepted innovation?

I really could not understand why a person like this is so skeptical in mindset but yet spoke without data.

my old PC

Moment ago, perhaps only yesterday, I bought home a 20" LCD to hook to my old Dell PC and placed them at side of the bed. The PC has been serving me for at least 5 years without failure except for once I blew the power supply with 220V while it was indeed set at 110V (upon return from US)

With the newly purchased LCD, the old PC seems to be reborn with new life and usage. All of sudden, I could find the PC useful again. Well at least, I could watch movie at ease on bed. Perhaps this is also a signal to myself that I need to reborn... I am finding my life now abit too repetative and monotonoues. What can be the inspiration to my life now?

Maxis...Maybank...my luck

Today is the listing of Maxis to KLSE. It was really fortunate that I had been "allocated" 3 lots sucessfully, well at least base on Maybank2u eshare status. Nevertheless, the joy faded as soon as when I checked up the CDS did not really deposit with any share. Thus I made a few calls, only to great disappointment that the share allocation had been rejected due to the CDS I used to apply the eshare is a nominee account.... What is this mean? Well it meant I did not acquire any discounted share. I was never told that the online account I am using is indeed a nominee account. I did not know this since the account active in 2003.
The complaint that I really did not like is that at the eshare application, there is no statement warning of which nominee account is not authorized for IPO. A key lesson learn with a few thousand lost...
I was never this lucky..

A view to a kill

This evening, when approaching the car, I encounter a deadly kill scene... They were killing the bees. It was so closed as the bees hive was just inch above my parking. I never withness such killing scene but I thought this type of killing only be carried out at night? I could be wrong. I could only lock inside the car and watching without anything could be done.

Another visit to Taiping Zoon again

Having no where to go for the kids with the approaching school holiday, I brought the kids to the nearby zoo again. I remembered we were there at the end of last year and the little one was afraid of riding the train... It was not any more for now and he indeed enjoy the ride more.
The zoo still the same but a little not well kept now with a lot of weeds grow taller than normal. The maintenance of the zoo must work out something or else the appearance will be bad and the habitat also will not suit the animals. Moment ago, I had bought an entry level digicam for the elder and so he is now snapping images everywhere. From the images he caught, there is sight of grow up for the elder one. He could zoom and focus to the animals well. I hope he will well keep the camera, unlike other gadget like the NDS declared permanant damaged not long ago after servicing for slightly more than 2 years old.

A quick snap to Gunung Lang

Last Sunday, the kids and I woke up in the early morning for the mission to renew their passport. We arrived the immigration at 8.12am but to our disappointment that the daily numbering had been run out while we were still queuing up. This is really annoying...

Later we went to the Gunung Lang to rest our upset. This place is really scenery and I do think that it is a potential for tourist haven if it is managed properly. If it is setup with some fun park at the other side, like what Sentosa has, I believed it will be an added spot in Ipoh besides only those dull caves. Perhaps if I stroke the lottery, I will buy this land for theme park development. Well at least I dare to dream..

My niece passed me a packet of facial masks for free and requested I tried out as according to her who is in her early 20 that I looked like elderly... I, however have not tried such type of facial care product. This would be the first in my entire life.

The first wasn't scary but instead very refreshing with the icy cold facial mask. It feels good and soon after the treatment, the face did feel smoother and I believed it is what this product is designed for. That is to give the user a refreshing feel.

After all, this isn't a bad experience at all. I would recommend this facial mask and it is really good.

Appreciation

The elder today surprised me with showing his won trophy for being performing excellence in computer studies. I only aware he is good in playing computer games and using it for some kind of drawing but never do i expect him to be well verse with PC. This is really an appreciation of the investment to have him attending the weekly computer class. Well done, kid

Deadly Kampar...

The name of Kampar suddenly topped the headlines recently, with the unexpected accident of claiming 6 lives. I really hope that there will be no more headlines for this sleeping old town.
May everyone be blessed from now on.

Hit And Run

Today the elder wanted to visit the dentish and so I parked the car and waited inside the car while he was inside the dental centre. 5 minutes later, a car drove by and double parked beside mine. The driver dashed to the nearby Damacai and his car was parked almost half feet to mine. He dashed back minutes later and reversed his car as there was another car at front. He knocked my rear and I yelled at him to stop. He did not bother and drove away. I looked at the car with the scratches and smudges on the bumper. I started the Nissan and drove off to run after him. There was quite a number of cars ahead thus making him unable to escape. I cut in to this car and demanded for a stop by negotiation.

The driver apologized and he claimed he was speeding off to have his father to hospital. I mentioned to him that he could still squeeze the time for Damacai and so it must not be issue. I demanded compensation and he paid RM200 for my loss. I really hope the repair of the paints would be at this range. I asked him to fetch his father to hospital quickly and drive carefully next time. My poor Nissan!

For those who want to have some luck with Damacai or magnum4D, the car number is KV6279B

Another trip to Cameron Highland

On Sunday, we went to the Cameron Highland for a short day trip. The kids always remembered this hill stop as they have you accompanied them at least twice last year. The kids remembered you like to have the tea at the tea cafe and remembered what was bought. It was the mouth blowing soap bubble! I had forgotten this as it was the last trip that they had these items bought and had fun with.
It was good to look at them playing and have laughs. I believed they always remembered the moment with you as the little one always said you were doing this or that or like this or that. The kids remember and so do I.

The news of a pupil drown during the participation to 1Malaysia Camp at Kampar River really sank my heart. It was really a most sadden news for everyone.
I always doubt about the safety precaution by organizing committees for this type of so called camp, outing and even the national service. People always forget the safety manner but only burst the fun parts of it but risk the life of the love one.
I would really wonder why the students are required to cross the bridge at night escpecially now is the raining session? Why at night?
My elder always wanted to join this type of activities but I always refused. I would not agree for the elder to join unless I be presence. I own the sole responsibility of the kids. My elder, I hope you understand this. And I would want to see you build up with better confident, with some exposure of survival, able to swim and response to emergency but till then you are not authorized for all these activities.
I pray for the loss and some one will learn from this type of tragedy.

Shrimping with fun

The shrimping (or shrimp fishing) is getting common in Ipoh as there is at two setup at my living area. The operation is somehow setup in an old fashion type. I would imagine that it could be resembled something like
1) customize family room with small pond and BBQ setup which can immediately cook the catch
2) table top with small shrimping rope to see the shrimp on the catch and also can immediate BBQ
This type of setup will definitely draw huge attention from youngsters and family as a gathering spots instead of getting rare old man type hobby of fishing.
May be I will need to get some funding sponsor and will setup this type of catch and cook yourself restaurant. Well at least in conceptual

Credit card is always the convenience cash replacement. This is always true especially at travel. Furthermore, with the recent snatch and run incidents, credit card will minimumly "protect" in some sense. This is provided the cancellation of credit card is done immediately before next swiping process.
The government decision to impose RM50 per credit card would not be a good idea at all. This tax should be imposed on bank as the card is issued by the bank and "forcefully" urging the client to spend with the card. The bank policy to almost freely give away credit card and thus result the bad debts should be the responsibility of bank as of not careful in client selection. Why the bad debts due to credit frault has to been divert to customers instead. I would want to see which bank will realize their responsibility and contribution to these bad debts and would subsidize the credit card tax. I would wait till the last week of Dec to cancel the excess cards.
I will choose to have the bank that has the best service to maintain the credit card. Or else, sorry, you are on the list of cancellation.

Gift of the year

This is the gift that we bought together perhaps in year 1992 when my parents moved to a new house from a wooden hut. I could still remember we were choosing the gift of house warming at Ipoh. The shopping mall was Crescendo and now Olympia College.
The bell is still at front of my parents house. Whenever there are blowing winds, the bell still gives its sweetest jingle. It reminds me of you.

Lesson to the kids

The elder one is always timid and shy to express especially at conflict or in stress. The little however tend to perference do not assume responsibility even when he was at fault.
There was an incident last night. The glass dining table somehow had one of its 4 legs "detached" but luckily the table did not collapse and broke. When I spotted that, two kids were holding the leg and trying to align it back. Quickly I applied glue to seal it back but worrying that the leg will be detached again and so the table will collapse. I will hope it will not.
I had interrogated them who was at fault and how this incident happen. They could not offer a good explanation although did provide some brief details. Apparently I found out that the glue had degraded and so with slight push, the leg would be bent. I had a talk to them and pretended wanted to can them. I demanded the admission of who were at fault...
The elder one claimed the little one had pushed the table and he saw the leg bent and so help to hold the table. He said the little instead went upstair and came back with toys assume nothing happen. I turned and asked the little one if this was so. He silence neither admit or deny but just stared pity at me. Then I led the elder inside the wash room and pretended canning his brother. He somehow explained further after this but still did not admit either. I asked him to stare at the wall for a while and tell me what had happened.
A while later, he told me that he pushed the table but did not aware that the leg had bent while he went up to locate toys. Upon returning he saw his brother holding the table and so he helped.OK, this is abit better.
The elder one however, leaked out to him that I never canned him... I hope the little one will learn something but not treading this as a game..
I would need to spend more time talk to these two prince of mine.

Gaining weight

I had been noticing that I am on the way to have the weight gain. First of all, I started observing the dummy then the chubby face. I really do not like to see myself in this figure and will definitely trim down. May be I will need to have some exercise; may be I do need for some body trimming programme. Hmmm.... may be all I need is to control my diet?
The elder also on the same path of weight gaining. And he is so noticable. There are muscles building up on his body. May be two of us will need to work harder with exercise or else we will be fatty dad and son.

Our photo

The protrait of our photo is still at the wall, at the back of the bed. I do not remember how long I did not have it washed but when I touched it with fingers, there are dusts. Dear, my apology for not taking care of this property.
The color of the photo still good and it always reminded me of our photography session... It was in year 1997. The photo is here to stay on.

Kids' room

The kids always messed up their room, with toys, books, stationery on the floor, tables and cabinet. Have been reminded them to tidy up their room repeatedly and I always spend a few minutes cleaning up mess. On Sunday night, while it was still early in the night, I decided to forced them to decide which are the toys to give away so as to reduce the quantity of mess inside the room. They complied and I found it was amazing that they willing to let go some of their toys. But too bad only for those already slightly defective. At least they are willingly to give away.
I also re-arranged the kids tables so now it appears to be more spacious. I hope they can maintain the room and I would not need to continue as the servant of cleaning up. :)

1Malaysia....

This slogan remains as slogan. I still do not see anything that really concrete and reflective as 1Malaysia except a few poster and ministry's fancy.
What is that really has changed?
If nothing is going to be done, this is GREAT as slogan at least!

I can U-Turn but you cannot

Moments ago, when my friend was driving me home and stopped at a traffic junction, a police patrol car was at the trial of having a U-turn at red light. The junction did not have a post that U-turn is allowed. I remembered hearing some ministry claiming that a U-turn is only allowed at where there is a U-turn signboard. Hey, what about this police patrol car.
First it broke the most important offence ... crossing when the red light is on. And secondly U-turn at a junction of no U-turn signboard.
There was also another incident a few weeks ago when I was driving along the Tasek road. I was on the way to Soo King's resting home when I spotted that there was also another police patrol car having the driver holding a phone and talking to phone. There were two police inside the patrol car. It did not pull off at the roadside to continue the phone conversation. I watched but I did not have my phone camera to capture down this. I am now just wondering if these police saw me taking down their offense images, what would they do to me?
It is really ashame that it is practising double standard.

I always refused the kids to play with fire even with those candles. They are restricted from assessing even lighters and matches. But this restriction was broken on the few nights before the mid autumn lantern festival. I had allowed and accompanied them lighting up the candles.

They also always like to burn something as I believed they enjoy watching the dancing flames. And so I approved them with my accompany. They would have you around if you still here to stay with them. Happy Mooncake!

A quick trip at Raya break

Every year since moved back from Penang, we always use the Raya break to have a quick short travel around. It was no different for this year, with only one exception... We headed to KL/PJ as this would always the best time to have shopping at this period with less hassle since majority would have been gone back for Kampung.
We had our stay at the Royale Bintang opposite Ikea. We tried a few times previously for this hotel but always being informed fully booked but this year we had our stay close to Ikea. The kids always enjoy inside the pet world with fishes, hamsters, snakes...There were only a handful few of shoppers around and we really enjoy leisurely.
There was one stop I had re-visited. It was the IOI mall. We had this visited a few times before as I could remember we also have the first visit to the first TESCO outlet in Malaysia in those early years. There had been so much changes as the main road is so wide and packed with shop lots now. The memory really stroke me a while when I halted there for sometime. Moments ago, I heard there is this RM5 Japan grocery shop, Daiso and spotted one inside the mall and so we decided to drop by. It was really a great shop. It was totally unlike those local RM5 shops. We are even losing in this type of sundry shop. Malaysian, where are you? Boleh? or just fancy with F1 team?
While shopping, we spotted something really interesting. There was a car with a little snail at the back, slowly climbing up to no where. Where is this little guy heading to? And the best part of it, the car owner did not aware till I informed him and he could care less and drove away with his little pet at the back. Great, may be I could find one here, LOL
I would always wanted to visit the Sunway Pyramid as there was quite a number of memory inside this mall...I bought the first video cam for our wedding dated back in 1997 in this mall and the video still functional now but capture no more video. You were using it for the elder one recording all the events when I was on assign to state in 2000. I still holding the tapes but I did not believe I have the courage to screen them now. I would still keep them and I will watch them one day. There was a ice skating sports inside the mall and it is still in business till today. We did not have any skating trial before, but we always leaning to have some watches and laugh whenever seeing people falling down and this was how bad manner we were on laughing over others. It was here as well in 1998 when KL was hosting the opening event for the commonwealth games that we spent the night with watching a movie with title "Sincity" and you had complained after the show that we should spend the time on the event of opening. I could still remember clearly your voice beside my ears. There was any sports opening ceremony I could watch together with you now. I am so sorry!
It was really good to have memory but this would great hurt if we could not share anything for any longer. So for all, please cherish all moments!
