Diamond is forever and always a best friend to lady. Until now, man find another best mobility companion, it is the Touch Diamond. It carries price of a diamond for the phone at RM2799/=.
This is a light weight and rather slim phone in all black design. It resembled the Stealth F117 (to me at least) with some diamond cut back plate.
The phone is powered by a crippled WM6.1 but with a brand new interface of TouchFLO 3D which significantly increase the style of the phone and closely resembled Iphone multitouch features. The Touch interface and responses had been greatly improved as compare to all other HTC and smartphone and come really close to compete Iphone, if not due to its crippled microsoft WM6.1.
The phone comes in quite a number of innovations. One feature I like is the vibrational alert to inform that the calls have been picked up or answered. You will not require to hold the phone to your ear during the dial period (which suppose to be the period with heavy electromagnetic impact). Next, the phone can be put into mute mode with just flip the phone over and place it face down. This action will force the call to be ignore and muted the incoming calls. The power on button for Diamond is rather flat and does not provide much feel to be pressed. One with fat fingers could be difficult to feel if the button has been pressed. However, there is another way to wake up the phone without pressing the power on button. You just need to withdraw the stylus and the phone will be waken up for usage. These little tweaks are really handy and putting the phone as fancy gadget.
A friend of mine has passed me the phone for trial. And I must yell at this friend although I feel thankful for his trust to let me use his Diamond. Overall, the impression of the phone is satisfactory. The responses are fast and sufficient for normal daily usage although some improvement of speed definitely welcome. However, there are at least some complaints that I will need to call HTC for improvement. The battery get really hot when I am using it for calls after 10 minutes. A side camera button will be welcomed although not absolutely required. The speaker could have been better as I can hear some cracking sound with full volume of the speaker. The speaker on volume could have been louder and I personally find the volume is too soft. A slot for external memory will be great.
In short the phone is another innovation of the aged WM6 OS. Though it can be better enhanced and worth to be called as Diamond, but I will not sign my credit card on this phone yet. Reason being, I believed I will want to really see and feel the Iphone 3G before making another buy. Not to say that I really really over spent for this month!
