It was two years ago when I last purchased a brand new phone with cash. The last phone which I had mistakenly bought with cash was the Motorola L7 which was paid in February 2006 when I was window shopping in Bukit Jambul mall. I still remembered I was "trapped" to buy that L7 phone by the promotion girl who dressed nicely and charming... It was my fault for that impulse purchase and the phone only lasted on my hand for two months or so. Since then, I had never bought any brand new phone at launching. All the phones I used was used phone in excellent condition as I do not mind being using a used phone and further more I can gain with the practise of buy and sell so as to keep funding me to try out new and latest phones.
Today, I bought another phone...It is the Nokia E71 which I had been eyeing it even before it was launched here. The phone I believed only introduced to Malaysia last week and I had been shopping around for this great phone.
The form factor and the functionality of the phone really catch my attention. It has all the Nokia E90 (another of my like) functions and yet able to shrink the form factor to be able to drop in to the pant pocket without hassle. There is only one thing I dislike however...I perfer the white version more than this grey one but I believed it will not be available till a few months later.
Last week was also the launching week of Iphone 3G and this phone did not even catch my attention as I find it has lost its innovation but only add up 3G and GPS. Same old form factor and appearance. Apple, you better be more sincere in next introduction of Iphone....
I believed the E71 may be on my hand for another a month or two before I fall in love in another phone. I hope it will be longer for it..as I paid cash and bought as brand new. Guess I will lose a few hundred when I had it sold off later. Anyone want to pre-book this phone from me? Send me your name and you may get it tomorrow or next month.
Nokia, you have done another great job in getting E71 to market. kudos!
