My Beloved Wife, Soo King (1971 - 1990)

Childhood and primary school age (1971 - 1983)

Soo King was born in a small town called "Jeram" in July 29, 1971. I did not have chance to involve in her early childhood days but from the photos, Soo King already protraited herself as someone who was cheerful, charming and most of all pretty. It was easy to recognize her as there was some characteristic of her smiles which remain till now and forever in my heart. She was a brilliant student of SRJK (C) Jeram and I remembered she commenting to me that she was one of the top students who all teachers had been wishing she could perform really well in Ujian Penilaian at Standard 5 (1981). However, the results were not as expected and she cried. Since then, she invested her time in studies.

(1984 - 1989) Secondary School
Soo King had her secondary education in Sekolah Menengah Kampar since Remove Class (1984) till Form 5 (1989). She had been an active student in co-curicular activities as I remembered she telling me that she was the lead for St. john, librarian and prefect etc. She was also keen in performing in annual school activities with dances, plays etc. I did not have chance to view all of her performances as at this age, I still did not have the fate to meet her yet. Soo King had a group of good friends who are still in contact till now. And I am so cherish that majority of you turned up to withness and accompany the last episode of Soo King. I believed Soo King would know and appreciate all the times which you have been dedicated to her and she would always cherish the friendships with you all.
I was also informed that there were numerous of admirers and secret admirers to her at these days. She had not been bothered to anyone of them as she primarily focus only to her studies particularly for SRP and SPM. My dear wife was then awarded with 5A in her SPM for her hardship in studies while staying active in other school activities. I came to knew of Soo King in my Form 5 as I was told of her character and pretty. I only knew she was the "flower" of SMK at that time, as I was perhaps busy with my own preparation of SPM. We did not meet till Form six in 1990..

Our destiny started in 1990
The fate of meeting Soo King finally began in 1990 when both of us were transferred to a similar school, SM Sri Kampar. However, we were still not knowing each others yet as we were in different classroom. I guess there must be fate for us to meet each others as the school made another arrangement to combine all the bio-maths students to one single class and we finally became classmate. Soo King was really quiet and did not bother to guys at that times. I could only stared at her back and admired her long hairs. I loved Soo King in long hairs and had her hairs tied up. All I could do was to stay close to two of her best friends so as to get her attention. It was really tough to break the ice with Soo King as I always felt kind of nervous whenever facing her. All practised speeches were useless but I believed because of my cheerful character which I can deliver laughters to surrounding friends with jokes and teases finally caught her attention.
I also acted very strangely in Form Six as I isolated my table from the rest and studied alone without bother the teacher. Soo King, you must remember well that I started the tackling you with boarding on the same bus with you (at a few seat back) to your house and requested to be your boy friend at the bus stop when I was going home hours later. But my Soo King really was a tough girl to win the heart with! You had been acting cool and not responding to my tactics which made me twisting my head for nights for love letters, gift, guitar, songs etc. I need to specially learned up some chords for guitar to sing some songs to Soo King. Both of us will always remember our love song is "Love me Tender" although I can only sing in a harsh voice but I remembered Soo King was smiling during the session.

Soo King had been well manner, patience, kind hearted, soft spoken and always cheerful with sweet smiles. She always had her long hairs tied up and attractive. Although I do not have chance to involve in those earlier ages, but I felt thankful as Soo King had been having a great youngster days with friends, laughters, joys and cheerish for lifes. Soo King also the sister of guide for all her brothers and younger sister. Her parents are always proud of Soo King with absolute no worry of her studies and arrangement of life. She planned well and ambitious in her life. It is my greatest gift and wealth to have a chance to meet Soo King in 1990 to ignite our love journey.

How Do I Live Without You, Soo King

How do I get through one night without you
If I had to live without you
What kind of life would that be
Oh I, I need you in my arms
Need you to hold
You're my world, my heart, my soul
If you ever leave
Baby you would take away everything good in my life
And tell me now
How do I live without you
I want to know
How do I breathe without you
If you ever go
How do I ever, ever survive
How do I
How do I
Oh, how do I live
Without you, there'd be no sun in my sky
There would be no love in my life
There'd be no world left for me
And I, oh Baby, I don't know what I would do
I'd be lost if I lost you
If you ever leave
Baby you would take away everything
Need you with me
Baby don't you know that you're everything good in my life
And tell me now
How do I live without you
I want to know
How do I breathe without you
If you ever go
How do I ever, ever survive
how do I live without you
how do I live without you baby
how do I live....

Toshiba G910 and Samsung Omnia I900

Today I had added another phone to my list. This time it is the Toshiba Portege G910 with the thumbprint security featured WM phone.
The interface is smooth and feel of almost no lacking during loading of the standard build in applications e.g. contact, calender, message etc. In comparison, I find the omnia performs much inferior than Portege. The leather feel of the cover made the phone classic and professional. However, the PDA may not convenient in the phone functions. I find it awkward to dial a call from this phone.
The screen resolution of G910 really making it stands out from the others. I believed the only challenger to this would be the Touch Diamond VGA screen(although G910 still higher in resolution) This is a PDA more than phone.

Samsung Omnia I900 and Nokia E71

I had added another phone to my list... Now it is the Samsung Omnia I900 which supposedly positioned as Iphone3G and HTC Touch Diamond close contender. I should have been more worry about the emergency status on my spouse but I could not help eyeing on this phone when she is in recovering mode now.

The Omnia really caught my eyes like seeing and owning a dream girl comes true. At least with the phone now, I can have some of my pressure diverted.

Depression

There are only several items that will worry me. One of it being the depression. Today, the monster of depression haunted my spouse and I believed I will have a hard time ahead now. With this sudden re-visit attack, I have to declare emergency.
The omen sign is clear now...

I sent the Latio (another weird pronouciation car) to the service center and happened to have two hours of bored times and so I explore the newly launched SYLPHY. I can never know how to pronounce this correctly not till the sales man "taught" me the correct way.
Why pick such a weird name that hard to pronounce?
May be this will be a car which good for criminal as a innocent public will not be able to pronounce it correctly even when the car could have been spotted involved in certain crime... may be!
After spend sometime on the sylphy, I find it has not much different as per my current Latio except with some face lift, larger cc, larger space etc. It does not worth a thought of purchase since I have its cousin version.

Highly Disappointed and low mood

Today, it happened again... The aquarium was "poisoned" and all its citizens were killed. This was a sign of bad omen and I was right about this feeling.
Today was the delivery of my work performance report card for the past year. I had been anticipating with a promotion for the contributions. I was confident about it till the last moment when I heard "... you can hit right to the bull eyes, but sometimes you were beaten up flat and non consistent... when you are consistently hitting the bull eyes, then you have arrived..." I was still rated high in the performance but not readily prompting for a grade jump.
And today also I triggered a fire to a good friend of mine due to carelessness. I am sorry!
Tonight, I will indulge in drinks... since I have a red wine. ya why not!
Congratulation to the rest who get satisfactory review, but I will definitely not!

I was introduced to PC world in year 1993 with a 486DLC, which costed me around RM4000. It was indeed a gift from my sister in end of my first year studies in USM.
Since then, I had indulged myself in the world of PC hardware, PC setup/troubleshooting, DIY upgrade, gaming etc. I had my first PC assembled and sold for a profit of RM1000 in 1996. With the success of the sale, I indeed had rewarded myself with a purchase of a mini HiFi and it is the Sony G77. It was priced at RM999 and I still remembered that I had it purchased in Jusco although I did not remember now the location of the store now. Since then I had been assembling and selling PC as part time hobby. From Pentium to Pentium 4 and 4Mb SDRAM to 1G DDR RAM. My records tell me that I had at least assembled and sold over 150 PCs and the last PC I sold was in year 2002.
Now after 6 years, I am still follow the PC hardware roadmap and DIY but have not been selling any more PC instead of resale of 2nd hand laptop.
Tonight, I had relocated the Sony G77 to my room and have it turned on. The radio is still working but not the CD. I had been storing this audio in store for more than 3 years after moved down from Penang to Ipoh in 2005. When I look at the G77, I realized that there had been 12 years passed and it is still working fine now (although its CD player is malfunctioned) I believed it will accompany me for another few years more before I have it donated to the charity body. Staring at the G77, it suddenly reminded me of my first PC... a PC that introduced me to the world of PC and a gift from my sister. The PC was sold at RM800 in 2000 and I hope it is still working fine now as I had it upgraded to Intel DX4-100MHz.
It had served me well for 4 years.

Bad Memory of conned case with RM4000

Indeed this was one of my worst memory of internet trading for more than 13 years. In this case, I was conned RM4000...
It happened in year 2006 January when I had a phone deal over internet with a guy with nickname Xavier2226 who called me that he had a SonyEricssons phone for RM450. The phone at that time was still a hot selling product and it was at least RM500 cheaper. After a few phone calls and sms, I agreed to bank in to the guy's account at Maybank. The account number is 101552042961 and the person name is Lee Fook Yoong who stayed in 24 Jalan perwira, taman century 80250 Johor baru. I did not suspect anything as this was not my first deal over the net for phone, laptop, gadget etc. and the amount involved only RM450. And so I was careless in this case and I am the one to be blamed for the loss of money.
Next day, I called him and he said he had post the phone with poslaju and so I asked for the tracking number. He gave me a number which did not exist and so he explained that it could be wrong address or wrong tracking number. So he would be responsible to chase the parcel to KL poslaju to stop the delivery and he would personally deliver to me at Ipoh all the way from Johor to Ipoh. At this point of time, I sensed something wrong and had made the worst expectation of a conned case with no delivery of parcel. However, the whole Friday he had been sms me to confirm that he was on the bus with the phone and would be arriving at Ipoh at midnight. Wow...this is the only response I cheered myself at that time. Then at midnight around 2am, he rang me and mentioned that he arrived at Medan Gopeng and asked me to come collect the phone. And so I went as I had nothing to afraid of now after making the worst case expectation.
To my surprise, he was really at the bus station and he passed me the phone... Wow! what a good seller and I started to have some trust on this guy after some further chats at the nearby McD. We chit chat for nearly half hour and I left him waiting for the next bus at 6am to Johor.
Then, next few days, I added him to the MSN and had some regular conversions on phone deal etc. I had bought another SE K750i from him and he delivered that as well in poslaju. No more personal delivery.
After this two successful transactions, I had another four phones orders to him amounted to RM4000 (K800i, Dopod 838pro, N80, W610i). He sent me a couples of the photo of the phones and claimed he would be sending these phones separately. The N80 and W610i were on his hand and so they will be shipped from Johor. K800i was on his partner friend in KL and he will need to cross over to Singapore for the Dopod 838 pro. All these orders had been booked and I already had buyers on them with profit margin around RM1k.
Three days later, phones did not arrive and his phone rang but without replied. Then next day, he called me claiming that again the K800i had been delivered to wrongly to Kelantan and it was all the fault of his partner friend in KL who was using the phones to show off to his girl friends. And so he went down to KL to have a fight with his partner friend and again needed to travel to Kelantan to take back the phone.
Wow... ok ok... another great story. then two days later, no phone calls can reach him and he had totally vanished. I had asked some of my fellow net friends and they said seeing him online with another account and they even informed me that this guy had some con cases before and he was notorious for cheating....Wow... This was really my first heart loss after had been using the net transactions and deals for years. And I was cheated...for RM4k.
I should have checked his details from the net. A google search with his name had returned with report of his con case. I was being stupid for not checking this person. There was nothing else I could do except report the case to police. And that was another story with the police report...And after almost two years, there is no police follow up informing of the case update. Unlike to my experience in US that a police report over a phone call only will also catch attention of the police investigation till bring the case to court. Our police is really great. I had personnally lodged the report at noon and at where also I saw the police officers playing solitaire.. Wow...no wonder there is no further investigation except as only a file with open case with dusts covered on top.. and what more astonishing was that... at exit of the police station while claiming back my IC, a police at the guard house had asked me that why there was no "duit kopi" as it was almost CNY...
After a few months, I received an email from this bastard and he claimed that he was inside the jail or lock up and he would be returning the RM4k to me... but he never did.
This is a true story and I really disappointed with our police forces working attitude and crime prevention or investigation. A check on the net transaction detailed out so many similar or identical conned case but our police force is not taking actions on this "small or tiny" criminal and so had really promoted the internet crime. Be it involved small amount of money, it is still a crime needs to be handled. After all... I was also being "adviced" to forget about this case during reporting the case to police and teased that why I chose to make deal over the internet.
That was the story in 2006 and I still have faith on internet transaction but in a more careful manner; but I have absolutely no faith to the police for investigation and follow up of the reported crime.
So, be more careful over internet deal! There will be nobody can help except onself. Police?? forget it...They play solitaire!

Nokia E71

It was two years ago when I last purchased a brand new phone with cash. The last phone which I had mistakenly bought with cash was the Motorola L7 which was paid in February 2006 when I was window shopping in Bukit Jambul mall. I still remembered I was "trapped" to buy that L7 phone by the promotion girl who dressed nicely and charming... It was my fault for that impulse purchase and the phone only lasted on my hand for two months or so. Since then, I had never bought any brand new phone at launching. All the phones I used was used phone in excellent condition as I do not mind being using a used phone and further more I can gain with the practise of buy and sell so as to keep funding me to try out new and latest phones.

Today, I bought another phone...It is the Nokia E71 which I had been eyeing it even before it was launched here. The phone I believed only introduced to Malaysia last week and I had been shopping around for this great phone.
The form factor and the functionality of the phone really catch my attention. It has all the Nokia E90 (another of my like) functions and yet able to shrink the form factor to be able to drop in to the pant pocket without hassle. There is only one thing I dislike however...I perfer the white version more than this grey one but I believed it will not be available till a few months later.
Last week was also the launching week of Iphone 3G and this phone did not even catch my attention as I find it has lost its innovation but only add up 3G and GPS. Same old form factor and appearance. Apple, you better be more sincere in next introduction of Iphone....
I believed the E71 may be on my hand for another a month or two before I fall in love in another phone. I hope it will be longer for it..as I paid cash and bought as brand new. Guess I will lose a few hundred when I had it sold off later. Anyone want to pre-book this phone from me? Send me your name and you may get it tomorrow or next month.
Nokia, you have done another great job in getting E71 to market. kudos!

There had been at least three weeks I did not update the blog. There had been tonnes of workloads recently that I had been forcing my engineers to work extra hours during the weekends and weekdays. I will definitely need to thank my fellow engineers to produce the data for important decision of the recent issue.
Besides, I noticed that I really had not been recovered from the previous illness and the backpain and perhaps fever still periodically visit me forcing me to have early sleeps after the works. There had been at least three weeks I tried to battle the illness-devil and now I started to see I am gaining control and sight of victory. I once again had regain the health, of course may not be as strong yet to killer a tiger but enough to kill a dog...lol.
On another occassion also I had been quite fedup with the recent progress of Malaysia politic. It is just politic for the sake of politic with drama after drama. I could not see the government and others are really concern of building and steering the nation but more of catching the public attention with news, scandal, plots etc. that do more harm that really helping us, the fellow citizen who need peace and hormany.
I will quote a statement here... change may be good, but who can assure that after the change, it will be better?

Waiting mum and dad

At one of raining evening, I went to the kid school to pick him up from the school. At my arrival, there had been couples of mums waiting patiently outside and chit chat in a loud tone.
As I went to the school immediate after the office, I was still in the office attire with long sleeve and slack. And I also notice that I could be the only male waiting there. It was like a age long waiting even though I just need to wait for 20 minutes.
When the school bell finally rang, I quickly grab my kid and rush out.
It was not a good experience at all.

On Monday night, I went to a nearby Japanese restaurant and there is a fish pond as a decoration at the left side of the entrance.
What made me feel uncomfortable was that there are two gold fishes kept at the small pot with limit space for swim. This would be like a cage for the fish and torturing the fish.

Annual performance review

It was the time for annual performance review again. It is a time for the report card of service provided. I have 7 engineers/senior engineers reporting to my session of which I will need to rate and rank them accordingly to P1/2/3/4 base on the performance they had provided since last year.
Although I do not practise favourtism, there will be some messages I will need to be delivered particularly on poor performers. There is a statement that claims manager is to be unreasonable and to manage the unreasonable. Seriously, I could have all of them rated as P2 but I will need to careful on doing so as I could have delivered a wrong message on some who did not perform well.

I believed I had yet recovered from last week illness. Last night, I felt kind of cold and shivering with running nose. The backache was so severe that I could hardly sleep. I took a panadol as relief for the pain and finally get to some sleep but the moment I wake up the next morning, I find myself having fever and measured at 100F. I had been on the bed whole day trying to rest and regain some strength, but I failed as the condition worsen. Normally, I am kind of stubborn seeking medical treatment, as I would know that the physician will likely issue me pain-killer, antibiotic, cough syrup or may be vitamin.
This round, I use the traditional herbs and trying to sweat more so the heat can be released from the body. I had my whole suit filled with sweats and yet I did not feel I had regain any strength but instead feeling much painful at the back. Finally, I drove to seek a medical consultation and like expect, I came home with painkiller, antibiotic, cough syrup.

OSIM uYoyo

The OSIM uYoyo delivered to me on Thursday and this was an implusive purchase that would "endanger" my finance to save up RM10k for another investment.
Nevertheless, this massage chair really live up to its name as a healthy chair as after the 30 minutes massages, I find myself sleep better and better relief of my back pain. Although I would need to tight my belt for another few months, but the price to my own health will be greatly compensated.
I am now with air condition turn on, soft sentimental music and blogging with the massage program activated. And I must say that the chair influence me to sleep whenever I have it turn on.

Diamond is forever and always a best friend to lady. Until now, man find another best mobility companion, it is the Touch Diamond. It carries price of a diamond for the phone at RM2799/=.
This is a light weight and rather slim phone in all black design. It resembled the Stealth F117 (to me at least) with some diamond cut back plate.
The phone is powered by a crippled WM6.1 but with a brand new interface of TouchFLO 3D which significantly increase the style of the phone and closely resembled Iphone multitouch features. The Touch interface and responses had been greatly improved as compare to all other HTC and smartphone and come really close to compete Iphone, if not due to its crippled microsoft WM6.1.
The phone comes in quite a number of innovations. One feature I like is the vibrational alert to inform that the calls have been picked up or answered. You will not require to hold the phone to your ear during the dial period (which suppose to be the period with heavy electromagnetic impact). Next, the phone can be put into mute mode with just flip the phone over and place it face down. This action will force the call to be ignore and muted the incoming calls. The power on button for Diamond is rather flat and does not provide much feel to be pressed. One with fat fingers could be difficult to feel if the button has been pressed. However, there is another way to wake up the phone without pressing the power on button. You just need to withdraw the stylus and the phone will be waken up for usage. These little tweaks are really handy and putting the phone as fancy gadget.
A friend of mine has passed me the phone for trial. And I must yell at this friend although I feel thankful for his trust to let me use his Diamond. Overall, the impression of the phone is satisfactory. The responses are fast and sufficient for normal daily usage although some improvement of speed definitely welcome. However, there are at least some complaints that I will need to call HTC for improvement. The battery get really hot when I am using it for calls after 10 minutes. A side camera button will be welcomed although not absolutely required. The speaker could have been better as I can hear some cracking sound with full volume of the speaker. The speaker on volume could have been louder and I personally find the volume is too soft. A slot for external memory will be great.
In short the phone is another innovation of the aged WM6 OS. Though it can be better enhanced and worth to be called as Diamond, but I will not sign my credit card on this phone yet. Reason being, I believed I will want to really see and feel the Iphone 3G before making another buy. Not to say that I really really over spent for this month!
Touch Diamond... A man mobility companion

Aquatic plants and my aquarium

I had been trying to plant aquatic plants to the aquarium. I remembered spending over thousand acquiring the CO2 tank, light source etc. but after a year, I still do not manage to grow aquatic plants like one of my admires.
May be this is what moeny will buy! I believed I will shop again next week searching for those "carpet plants" to plant the whole aquarium in green. But at least, I am glad that I had manage to stop the whole tank of fish being killed due to some unknown reasons. A few weeks ago, the aquarium population had been reduced to 1/3 of its peaks.
I will need to spend some more time in "landscaping" again.

Some accompany at nights with Nite

Suddenly I found some light drinking really help to provide better sleep. And so I bought some more of the Nite. It is an alcoholic juice at low 5% alcohol. They come with apple, grape, strawberry etc favours.
They are also priced cheaper as compare to those beer. I had never like drinking beer before except with "kaki" and at special occasion. Since I do not have any more "kaki" I do not drink beer anymore.
And so I drunk two of them tonight to help me for a good sleep. Though I was not drunk, but I found myself with red face and eyes as well as rather spinning head.
I will still need to wake up for some cycling in 6.30am later. Before this, I will still indulge in drink.

I saw there is "health center" started to introduce Fish Therapy as a way to replenish or rejuvenile the dead skin and in the same time getting some "massaging" effect on the tired legs.
It is really a cool idea having such a wondering commercialized therapy. I believed one can see there are multiple health programms; be it foot reflexology (if do not believed me, just walk along the Jalan Bukit Bintang and you will be amazed with lines up of shops plus some "pretty gals" around as promoter); body massage, spa etc and now Fish Therapy being one of the latest to town. I did not try out such a wonderful promotion yet as I still skeptical. I looked at the fishes, they appeared no different as compare to Tilapia. I could be wrong!
Having myself halted for awhile observing the Fish Therapy, I started to think if I can start "inventing" shrimp therapy? May be let thousand of shrimps performing massage on your body?
If not, what about bees stung therapy? Ants bite therapy?? LOL

Today, I tried a restaurant named Yeh Lai Onn (夜来香) which really meant "shit" in Chinese. There were plentiful of customers waiting there and so I believed the food could be nice and worthwhile to be tried out. I ordered a garlic-ginger steam Tilapia, saulted crab, Seremban eggs and a vege and supposed to be anticipating a good tasty delight for dinner. However, the eat out totally turned out to be miserable and annoyance.
First the vege and rices are served in rather cold. Secondly, the dishes were late and separated. I almost finished up all the rices before the fish and crab were served. I was still fined with this if the food were indeed worth to be waited for.
However, it was not as I hope for. The Tilapia was smelly and cannot be swallowed. Even two of my kids could not take a bite of it. And so I complainted about the fish. This is where the tension began. The girl who took ordered on hearing this immediately turned to no able to understand cantonese and asked me in Mandarin. WTF...I thought just now you took order in cantonese? Are you trying to pretend or try to avoid being responsible!
Next, the fish was taken back to the kitchen, and a minute later, I believed the lady owner of the restaurant come to offer some explanation... "This is fresh fish and we do not know if it was smelly or what; but this is the fish favour...." She did not even feel ashamed on serving a customer with smelly fish! Next she offered no apology or price cut or anything or in sense of guilt but rather protraited a message that "well, it was the fish problem but not me.. and you have eaten it, so be it..." This treatment was where I felt so much annoyed!
Wait a minute, I am paying and you are saying you are not responsible if the dishes were edible. You do not even felt responsible or need to console your annoying customer!
Fine, I mentioned to the lady, this will be the last of my visit to this restaurant. And she just walked off without bothering if will be losing a new trying customer who get annoyed with the type of service and food being provided. And so I paid the bill of RM68 with a smelly Tilapia that we did not eat.
All the best to you, SHIT (Yeh Lai Onn) restaurant. No wonder you named yourself as SHIT

RM2.70 per litre for petrol

June 5, 2008 will mark another major petrol price hike again and this round will be the highest in Malaysia history with RM0.78 increase. This is really insane and we are still being told that our Malaysian inflation rate is low at 4% per annum.
At leaving the office, I happened to pass by some petrol stations and thought of why not fill up the tank before 12am tonight so I can still enjoy a tankful of RM1.92 petrol. However, the long queue and lines of cars at the stations really drive me off and I felt so upset that it is the first time on my way home, there are traffic jam. The traffic jam is due to the lines up of cars in to the petrol station to have the last minutes rush of cheap petrol.
I am actually looking forward to go to KL this week but now seeing this high price of petrol price, I could be calling off the thoughts.
I am wondering what is actually mean for Malaysia, a nation with petroleum export for foreign exchange but we suffer with the fluactuation of the crude oil price. Am I wrong that Petronas is earning billion every years?

Re-align for the second half of 2008

There had been rather emotional weeks before June 2008. 151 days had passed and now it is June 1, 2008 and I will need to check and re-align if my 2008 resolutions are meeting or remain as resolutions!
First of all, I do not know why I cannot save up some cash for past 5 months as compare to 2007 I would have invested several thousands to trust funds etc. But 2008, I have nothing on my hand yet. This will need to be analyzed and first priority
Second, I find my health condition is somehow started to deteriorate; there are some signatures of high blood pressure, anxiety, sleepless etc. I bet I will need to start control some diets and embarked on regular exersizes. Next, I also noticed that my anger is easily triggered, even by small matters. I started to throw tantrums.
