New Perak MB and Utility Bills

Finally, after more than 1 week of hassle, political games plays and acts, the new Perak MB sworn in formally on today 3/17/2008. To me, this is somehow is a relief as I begin to see twilight in the new state government in forming a calibrated coalition.

Yet, what I do not hope for is the battle of DPM of whether it should be one or two or Malay or Chinese or India. Please, do not bother too much of such title or position. I believed the whole state of Perak or rather Malaysian are watching how and what the new state government can bring in to Perak. We are already late in formalizing a state government as compare to Penang, Kedah or Selangor. Why are you so keen on DPM? Be remember, you are voted not solely because we like you but we do not have a choice but to give you a chance. At anytime, you can be thrown out easily. So prove it with your dedication to Perak people, but not playing political games in this state of "fighting" a Chinese be the MB or DPM. This is absolutely ridiculous to me.

Penang and Selangor have been paving ways for some improvement of life to its people but we, at Perak just get a MB sworn-in and I am very sure there are still some one at the fight of the DPM for Chinese etc. STOP IT!

I welcome the move of the Selangor MB on revising the water supply contract and even consider of selling off the mega million ringgit luxurious residental "palace" for EXCO as a way to fund project to Selangor that benefitial to the "rakyat selangor" I believed we cannot reduce those groceries prices that had been gone way up previously, but in the eye of state government, I believed there are something we can do...

1) reduce the water tariff, or may be with 10% discount with early bird payment

2) abolish the telephone fix line rental...(is this state or federal?) I find this most ridiculous as even mobile telco has so many plans and some even offer free for 6 months or life of the rental fees.

3) resume the unlimited local free calls for fix line.

4) early bird payment incentives or loyalty incentives. If there are no delay of bill payment before the due date for a period of 6 months or a year, one should be given a discount or special tariff for next year or so

5) Cukai pintu and cukai tanah suppose to get some discount rather than having a lucky draw like what MBI is doing. After all, it promote payment rather than promote gambling type of lucky draw

6) Parking fees should be revised or shorten the duration of chargers. May be on every day, lunch hour 12 = 1pm and Friday 12 - 2.30pm should be free parking

With just some fractional removal or reduction on such utility bills, the average households will be benefited at least RM30 - RM50 per month. With this amount saved, we can battle the already high priced groceries.

We do not need to start on some mega project or cosmo project, but start something simple and really can give a life to the general public. This is the least and simple win you will need to demonstrate that you really care and really dedicated to change our life.

Kudos... at least we are making way now.
